How to Avoid Survey Fatigue
If you take online surveys regularly, it’s not uncommon to get fatigued doing them for long periods of time.
After taking surveys for weeks, months or years on a platform, you can start feeling burned out.
If this sounds familiar, we have a few easy tips to follow to help fight the fatigue of taking online surveys.
Vary Your Location
Where do you usually take surveys? At your desk at work? On the couch watching TV? Making a more regular routine for survey taking can keep you on track, but the same scenery can also get repetitive after a while.
If you use a laptop to take surveys, mix up your routine by moving around your home. Take a few surveys from the couch, and then move into the living room. Then maybe to your bedroom on your comfy bed. By changing your background every so often, your mind has a chance to feel refreshed and stimulated.
Take Screen Breaks
Starting at any screen for extended periods of time can cause eye fatigue. Try following what eye doctors call the 20-20-20 rule. For every 20 minutes you spend at the computer screen, pause and stare off in the distance at an object about 20 feet away for at least 20 seconds.
By doing this you are helping to relax the focusing eye muscles, which can help with vision fatigue.
Switch Up Survey Types
Taking many types of the same king og survey is a sure-fire way to find yourself suffering from survey fatigue and just plain boredom. Try switching up the types of surveys or offers you attempt throughout the day to help keep your mind focused and fresh.
Always try and switch up the types of surveys or offers provided to keep your brain focusing on something new.
If you are primarily sitting down while taking surveys try standing up! Studies have shown that sitting for prolonged periods of time isn’t good for your body. So by shifting yourself to a standing position for a few surveys, you’re actually doing your body a huge favour!
There’s no need to go out and buy a fancy standing desk either, if you’re using a laptop some well-placed boxes or stacked shelves can double as a temporary standing desk setup.
All the recommendations to avoid survey fatigue have one thing in common - variety. By varying types of surveys, your physical location, your vision focus, your body’s position, and who you take surveys with, you can help fight against online survey taking fatigue.
Happy survey taking!
